If I'm staying in dadgad for very long, I'll string up with D'Addario EJ17 (medium) gauges for strings one, two, and six, and my regular EJ16 for the others. In other words, a sort of custom set to equalize the string tension over the set. For temporary dadgad use I don't bother restringing...nobody but me cares.
