Hi you all - I remember Fridarey ( by then just Stuart and Ann) singing the Delting Song in 1981 at the very first Shetland FF. It went deep. They phrased however in the last line " Sae lonely lies Deltin' since they went awa'. " Also they did refrain from any refrain. I have not heard it from anybody else, BURRIAN was sold at the time. It so gripped me that I learned the words then and often sang it to myself. Today at St Ives Museum I learned about the 1939 Desaster of the St Ives LiveBoat with seven crew drowning while out on a rescue. A sad ballad was written about that. I got to listen to it and suddenly everything came back to me!!I got the museum staff intrigued re Shetland. Thank you for this forum?? Barbara ( München)
