You should've seen Toronto in the 60's and early 70's. What a paradise it was! It's a much bigger, dirtier, harder, colder city now. Times have changed. I wish I could be back there in 1967 and have the chance to do it all over again, cos there was so much happening that I could have been a part of and wasn't. The coffeehouse scene was just amazing then. And all my heroes were playing in them too, 'cept for Dylan. He'd gotten too famous for the coffeehouse circuit by that time, and he wasn't seen much until re-emerging in 1974 with The Band, and playing Maple Leaf Gardens (the huge hockey arena in downtown Toronto). The Gardens recently closed its doors for the last time, by the way. The coffeehouses are long gone...
