Yes, Alex - A Rowdy Bunch indeed!! And I'd forgotten about all his Theatre Tech stuff!!!
And, he was apparently a pilot too (light aircraft I guess).

I think he may ALSO have had a Bear named Gladly ....
Y'know, that famous hymn all about "Gladly, the cross-eyed bear"!!!
He loved hymn-singing, just for all those great harmony opps :)
Fond memories of regularly gathering at Darwin's Gun Turret, awaiting the start of the weekly folk club, and all lustily singing Watersons numbers from the "Sound Sound Your Instruments of Joy" album.
That beautiful, feel good Rising Up Singing just doesn't seem to happen anymore .....
