This area has old-fashioned vines of simple roses that climb high into the trees without being parasitic. There are also many Mulberry trees from over a century ago when they tried growing silkworms that feed off the Mulberry. The trees survived the winters here but the silk worms did not. We also have orchards of Paw Paw thanks to the former now defunded Agriculture Department.

I have been seeding for poppy fields in back but no luck so far without soil preparation. They should sprout in poor soils from surface seeding.
