Far-right commentators like Charlie Kirk, Matt Walsh and Donald Trump Jr. are calling trans folks “dangerous” and even more severe terms like “t3rror!sts.” This type of fear-mongering and is part of a well-oiled disinformation machine called “trans panic.” We look into how this tactic was deployed during the recent church shooting in Minneapolis that k!lled two children, where the shooter was a trans woman. Authorities however found no evidence that connected the shooter’s gender identity as a reason for their actions...and yet commentators were quick to single out their gender identity as a reason for this tragedy.
