13 September 1759 The Battle of the Plains of Abraham, also known as the Battle of Quebec was fought by the British Army and Royal Navy against the French Army on the Promontory of Quebec. According to a myth, Wolfe sang the soldier song “How Stands the Glass Around” the night before the battle.
