I seem to recollect Betsy not being too happy about a Scottish version of this song and I think he copyrighted to insist that the song had his words as being the correct ones
Latterly he had been contacted by Christy Moore ~ quite why I don't know
This song of Betsy is of an era of working class people after a Saturday or Sunday night in the pub enjoying themselves the only way they knew late 1950s 1960s my guess
