I will be forever indebited to BREEZY for passing on this song to me many years ago. A song I had been trying to find for a long time. It is coming up to the 59th anniversary of this disaster and I endeavour to perform it on or around the 21st October as I have done for many years. But this song just absolutely chokes me up when I sing it. I was aged 20 at the time of the event but the iimages from media reports are still strong in my mind. I am in a choir that has coal mining roots. The bombing campaign in Vietnam in the mid 60s is used to chilling effect in the song to compare the carnage on that day in two different parts of the world. Bradfordian
