Then there's the question of singing.
I've sung in choruses all my life, starting with Sunday School and kindergarten.
I was at university majoring in piano, and singing in the chorus.
We were rehearsing, and there was a tenor who majored in opera, and he was there to sing the solo parts (Britten, St. Nicholas).
While the conductor was busy with I don't know what,
the tenor walked right over to me in the chorus line
and told me I had a beautiful voice, in a whisper.
That got my attention!
