It would be nearly impossible to know the previous act's repertoire before their performance, especially at a festival. It was just dumb luck that they performed some of the songs on your list.

I also think that amateur performers are viewed differently by audiences. Everyone knows it's mostly for fun and the joy of learning and playing music with other people so the audience cheers them on. I don't think you would have been judged badly.
