The four pieces of furniture wounded in the move from Stratford came home this morning from rehab, and I spent a merry couple of hours putting stuff away. Now, there’s nothing stacked in corners! No pile of drawers waiting for their chest! Desk clag off the study table and back in the desk!

Also, two more plastic bins to use elsewhere or just — gasp! — dispose of.

The last domestic improvement I must get done before winter is replacing the garage door opener with one that comes with a remote control (for the car) and an outside keypad. God alone knows why anyone would go to the trouble and expense of installing a garage door opener without those features! In fact, I’ve never seen one before, but here we are.

It’s raining in Ottawa, and likely to keep it up for several days. From the weather map, I’m guessing it’s the northernmost edge of the system that slammed into Jamaica.
