And, the tune Kitty Nowlan is on page 71 of the first of the three books of tunes in Edward Bunting's book The Ancient Music of Ireland. (My copy is a compilation of the three books, published by Waltons in 1969.) The attribution note for the tune says, "Very Ancient, Author and date unknown". The first book was originally published in 1796.
