There's a Mudcat connection to the Disney Pirates. Newbern Johnson was "Troll" in the early years of Mudcat, and he contributed a lot of posts. He was an expert of Klezmer music and sea songs, and an all-round good guy. He led the 24th Street Klezmer Band in Gainesville, Florida.
Troll left Mudcat many years ago, when he and his son got a job playing sea music at Disneyland Tokyo. I haven't heard from him since.
