I climbed a tall ladder this afternoon to retrieve the broken case of an HD TV antenna that was broken off of it's support when the roof was replaced on Tuesday. It was swinging on the end of the coaxial cable about five feet below the broken base on the roofline. I put it up a dozen years ago, screwed the base into the trim at the side of the roof. I'm no longer willing to go that far up the ladder to unscrew that old base and then go through the struggle to install a new more complicated device.

Instead I went into the attic, much easier via a set of stairs, and measured and attached the new antenna device to a truss. The reception is just fine and since this has plastic for its base also, it's less likely to be broken in the wind after baking in the sun like the last one.
