My 90-year-old neighbors across the street are living in a house with two bedrooms and the hall carpets up and things moved and stored in the front room because of a water leak and the sewer line needs repair (possibly dug up through the foundation). Only after the repair will the insurance company will pay to restore the house. I knew they'd had plumbers over but not the extent of it. I learned about this yesterday when I took over two bowls of dessert from our family thanksgiving.

The desserts were in no way going to help with the difficulties, but I hope they were a tiny distraction.
