The subject of consciousness is not complete without a personal recollection of consciousness in a lifetime. What was most rewarding and miraculous were the times when others would stoop to help. After 16 years of a prescribed education and direct experience, I chose a profession designed to help. After a dozen or more years of a helping profession, I felt I was getting used up and emptied. Any job with enough repetition could do the same. I went on a search and briefly lost myself, but I was far from the impulsive self centered kid I used to be. Being more alike than different from everyone, I became more of a we than an I. Besides all those who came before and living consciousnesses with talents I would never have, the 'weness' of life becomes more pronounced. Finding each other has practical obstacles, but the feeling we are all one, warts and all, is getting stronger. I can understand the villains in society and their mistakes. They too are part of the grand we. Realizing that I am you and you are me is more than a psychological fad; it is a profound realization, except for those few who are a biological mistake with severe psychosis or neurological damage.
Calling people with a we consciousness as multi-dimensional and those who are trapped in an 'I' identity as linear is one way to express it.
