About the Dec 7 songs...We were told by an elderly nun that woodsmen used to spread themselves out in the forest in Maine I think..or maybe it was Quebec..but lots came to Maine. They would sing Hail Holy Queen and as long as they could still hear each other singing they knew it was still a safe distance.
