Thread Name: Lyr Req: Lullaby, by John O’Connor
Subject: Lyr Req: Lullaby, by John O’Connor
Looking for the complete lyrics to John O’Connor’s Lullaby. Back in 2003, partial lyrics were posted here at the cafe. From that and other sources, here’s what I’ve been able to piece together, but I’m not sure how accurate they are.

Here’s a little tune
For the man in the moon,
Here’s a melody for the little baby

CHORUS
Here’s a little goodnight
Here’s a little sleep tight
Here’s a little pleasant dreams, too
Don’t you be forlorn, I’ll see you in the morn
Here’s a little goodnight for you.

When you close your eyes
You’ll see stars up in the sky
The cows will all meow
And the cats will all moo
The donkeys will hoot and the birdies will toot
They’ll sing a little goodnight for you.

Had a little fence,
it cost me ten cents
It has a little hole where
Your dreams can crawl through
You don’t need a key
Or a fiddle dee dee
Just a little goodnight will do.
