I understand why inventory control is such a big deal at Amazon warehouses; when my son worked for them he was at one time involved in programming the computer robots that retrieve items. Making things fit in a set amount of space versus putting like things together. My hall shelves are now arranged so things fit, meaning more of a search if any of them is sold (each has a tag with the contents). I just hoisted a bread machine box onto the top of it.

I'm alternating my work in the sun room between working the next jigsaw puzzle and using the same table (with the acrylic cover in place, topped by a gingham table cloth) to test VHS players. Last week I made a big box of four non-working ones to sell for parts or repair, but am rethinking that offer; the box girth makes it so pricey they are less affordable with the shipping cost. It might be best to offer two at a time in smaller boxes.

Things are moving forward, but not in a particularly timely fashion. We're still negotiating the day we'll do our family gathering, and it looks like it is going to be pretty close to the New Year. Considering our temperatures have been in the 70s this week it doesn't FEEL particularly xmassy.

Time to start some baking, cookies and some quick breads for people to take home, and if I can get a good sized frozen wild-caught salmon I'll smoke some for the family. A lot of consumable gifts this year.
