I printed out the first set of lyrics given above for my 95-year old cousin, who was delighted to find them some decades after he first heard the song, though he thinks some of the words differ slightly from what he remembers. If we can find time, I'll get him to annotate the printout with corrections and post the result here.

Also, he has suggested that I point out, since no-one else has, that this song describes a true story.
