This is such a blow. Losing John so soon after Rod is incredibly sad news for the Scottish folk scene. Jock Tamson's Bairns were such a force, and John's distinct vocal style was a key part of their sound. I remember seeing them live years ago - they had this energy that was just infectious. It makes me think of times when Sprunki and I sang along with their tunes. My deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and all those who loved his music.
