Well the nights are still frigid but today we got a bright though cool afternoon. Gives one hope that winter might not be all bad.
Tech note: Apparently a hotspot is sort of a router in a palm-size package, and it has its own phone number as part of my phone plan. So I have used it for internet access while traveling full time, for laptop and tablet, and it seemed pretty pointless to secure a 'land line' type of wifi and router for the house desktop, I just kept the portable one. It's fine right now using the old chip in the new device.
Today I had a nice lunch with friends in Mexico, then spent time at a lovely library in the nearby US border town. I've been there before, but this time it was blessedly quiet, and I had time to pick out some used books and videos, and do some thinking and notemaking in a comfy quiet spot. Our other libraries are fine, and I know there has to be lots of conversation to guide people, but gee it's nice to just have serene quiet.
On the wall in the sitting area were 'questions to ask yourself about the past year'.
When did you feel the most joyful?
What gave you energy, or drained it?
What seemed impossible but you did it anyway?
What did you try to control that was actually out of your control?
Is there anyone you need to forgive in 2026?
What habit, if you did it consistently, would make your life better?
