Yes, as a guitarist, singer, and interpreter of trad music, Carthy is simply a genius.

I started listening to him in the late sixties. His work solo, with Swarbrick, with Steeleye, with Brass Monkey, and of course the Watersons was, well, inimitable. I saw him ive in the U.S. many years ago, and he was wonderful.

Truly sorry to hear of his ailment.
