I've known Tom for almost 50 years, a great songwriter, and a true gentleman. When I opened for him a while back here in Eugene I was supposed to do 20 minutes, but it felt so good , that I ended up playing twice as long. Any other performer would have had me yanked off the stage, but Tom is a true gentleman and only reminded me that I should have worn a watch. Trouble is I wear a pocket watch, which is hard to check discreetly.
