The stories of Frankie Silver and Frankie & Johnny have nothing to do with each other - except that they somehow got melded together in some people's minds ... presumably because they both involve a woman named 'Frankie' who killed her husband/lover. Frankie Baker, of Frankie & Johnny, was not executed, contrary to the narrative of the song, and lived into the 1950s.
