After reading the article by Daoud Kuttab, for which SRS provided the link, the word "machinations" popped into my head. I was thinking about Netanyahu probably wanting the US to do his dirty work for him and using his sneaky influence over tRump, who is too gullible to question his motives or predict the consequences for the US.
