Reading over the comments here, I'm reminded of something that happened in a friend's family way back when.

Sarge (the father's nickname as he'd taught every level of rifle shooting in WW2 as a major) was cornered by his sons, Bob and Dave. The old man was asked,"Dad, which of us was the easiest to teach to shoot?" Mind you ALL three of his children were ranked as target shooters by several target shooting groups, including the NRA (which was different then than it is now).

Sarge thought a moment while his sons waited. Then he replied.

"Your sister Joan. She didn't come in with preconceived ideas about shooting, like both of you did."

Joan was, actually, far superior to her brothers. She could also play the accordion.
