Subject: RE: Artificial Intelligence - what could go wrong?
I've thought of that book/film often as the discussions of AI advance. I read the book before I saw the film, and there are differences, but they were both very effective. Jones wrote several novels after that I was unaware of until recently (should look them up!) Last year I bought a BlueRay version of the film because it never seems to pop up on television and it wasn't at the library.

Though there's just a paragraph break here, that gap represents several minutes of poking around IMDb looking for information (the Wikipedia link talks about a remake but it never happened - IMDb says still under development.) I landed on this gem called Den of Geek that looks at underrated SciFi films of the 1970s. I'm surprised that I've seen about 3/4 of them, most in theaters at the time. Read quite a few of the books also. Zardoz was more dystopian than SciFi, but it still fits that list. (And how they used the second movement of Beethoven's Seventh was mesmerizing.)
