If you want seriously long-term storage, one discussion I read recently came up with two ideas:
1) Encode your data as an urban legend. This doesn't have much storage capacity, though, and may suffer from bit rot or cross-contamination (memes *breed*, y'know).
2) Set up a foundation which is dedicated to copying the data from format to format as recording methods change, plus sufficient funding to keep it going, and ensure your message is compelling enough to attract new archivists (and funding) over multiple generations. Basically, start a religion.
