My personal view of how European nations should respond to Pete Hegseth’s comments about their response to the Fat, Ugly, Orange Baboon’s latest Middle-East war, succinctly put by Greg Stuart, British writer and commentator. For the benefit of Facebookphobes, here’s the text… ”Pete Hegseth thinks Europe should “say thank you” to Donald Trump for dragging the world into yet another catastrophic war in the Middle East. Thank you for what exactly? For destabilising global energy markets, sending oil prices through the roof, and putting the entire world economy on edge? ? For escalating a conflict that is already spiralling, with thousands of targets hit and no clear end in sight? ? For increasing the risk of a wider regional war that could drag in half the planet? And we are supposed to stand there, cap in hand, muttering “cheers mate”? No. If anything, Europe should be saying something else entirely, and it is not polite. This is the same tired American exceptionalism dressed up as leadership. Start a fire, pour petrol on it, then demand applause for holding the hose. The sheer arrogance of it is staggering. As if the rest of the world exists purely to validate Washington’s latest military adventure. Here is a reality check. Europe is not your junior partner, your client state, or your audience. If you want gratitude, try earning it with diplomacy, stability, and something resembling foresight. Until then, you can keep your lectures.
