Just above I mentioned the "Twinkle Twinkle" method of checking a fiddle's tuning. My most recent discovery is the "Amazing Grace" method for checking a guitar's tuning.There is a fourth between "A" and "maz", and a third between "maz" and "ing".
Therefore, you should be able to sing "A-maz..." on each pair of adjacent strings except G and B.
You should be able to sing "A--maz-ing" playing D-G-B open strings.
