I must admit, when I saw the name of this thread I presumed it was another silly conversation aimed at getting under the skin of one or another ... but when I saw it persist for some time, I thought 'maybe it's not what I think it is ...' so I looked in.

I haven't been plagued by the porn solicting messages, but I've received some, over the years for no apparent reason. I am not particularly bothered by 'em, I simply delete 'em. I do received 20 to 30 junk mails every day - not surprising since I purposely signed up for many many web-based services about a year ago, because I was researching this very subject (junk adevrtizing; not porn ads). I've decided that when I'm tired of the jusk, I'll chane my ISP and/or Email addr, and never give it out again.

I was curious though, so I checked out the Ad-Aware free download (thanks Just-a-Picker) and ran it. I found 20 some spy programs hidden among my files. I cleanned 'em up , and set the app to run and auto delete everytime I boot up my PC.

I haven't disabled cookies, though. How do youlog in here without a cookie? And what about the other sites that use them, where I might want to use their service?
