No Spaw, it isn't Lent that is the trouble, it's the parish business that must be transacted even though it is Lent, which makes two fulltime jobs (parish admin and priestly duties) into nearly three fulltime jobs (add the extra Lenten season services throughout the week). What I have asked him to consider for the coming years is letting the committees know they will have to suspend business during Lent so Lent can be... LENT.

Our Lent, BTW, is not miserable, but actually just a time for extra intense focus on our relationship with Jesus. A time when we get to look at whether we spend enough time with Him, or spend it, for example, listening rather than demanding. What we give up for Lent is... CRAP. (The crap that piles up all year in the way of what we mean our lives to be.)

Spaw, by that definition, I suspect you must be living in a somewhat permanent Lentlike state. *G* (I took your "shot" in good humor, and hope you take mine the same way.)
