The song mentioned by Gary is not Chevy Van, an early 70's chalkboard-scraper by Sammy Johns. Chevy Van doesn't contain the lyrics Gary mentioned, although this is the song to which Jan refers.

(Johns could not have been a proper hippy. Proper hippies drove VW Microbuses and made love by mountain streams. Disco guys after the chicks drove customized, full sized vans (no minivans in those days) equipped with beds, wet bars, large stereo systems, etc, and usually lined with plush purple shag carpeting. Often, a sign on the back door of the van announced "Don't Come A-Knockin' When The Van Is A-Rockin." God, the hideousness of those times never ceases to astound me.:))
