Any musical instrument if fumbled with appealingly by the leading man, produces wonderful effects, and can then be mislaid. The only exception to this is the piano (probably because it's difficult to mislay), which can be moodilly chorded, potted-palm style, by said leading man, or the sidekick if the L.M. has to sing.
