A bit oversensitive at times...But actually when you think of, that's a form of humility. Really arrogant people are completely oblivious to insults and criticism. (For example the English always used to take that kind of stuff as a kind of complement when England was a world power.) Which would imply that Americans must really be the least arrogant people in the world.
