Earlier songs to the tune (which seems to be an ABC I did for my website), including "I'll never love the more" which may be the earliest English song to the tune (if "The Blazing Torch" wasn't), are in the Scarce Songs 2 file on my website. The tune is one of my top 3 favorites of the 17th century and is probably a Scots one (late Scots titles are Montrose Lyns and Chevy Chace)
