I agree with CarolC about the rationalization. Anyone with even a slight amount of intelligence can tell that the actions will not be, and have been proven in the past not to be effective. Nobody's buying it. Maybe it's boredom, maybe it's a need to interact with people, and he just doesn't know any other way, maybe it's his way of shouting "I am." Who knows...
