The basic reason why is the burning desire to create effects. We all do it; but the mature or capable among us do it in a way that balances viewpoints and is willing to exchange creating effects with having effects crated on oneself by others, such as by being moved by someone's writing. People a little less on top of things or together go out of balance and feel that a great deal more effort is needed in order to reach others, and also often feel that they must allow NO impulse from others to reach them. In expreme cases this becomes allowing nothing and no-one to touch you while believing one must create cosmic-scale results with zero effort in zero time. Crazy in the extreme; but lots of people have small traces of it in them. Any way, the short answer is in order to cause some kind of effect somewhere.
