Thread Name: Tune Req: Mrs Dundas, Miss Brown, Miss Charte
Subject: Mrs Dundas, Miss Brown, Miss Charter
Okay, here's the story: the guy who's always sneering "Why can't you pick it up by ear?" wants my friend who has spent 38 years reading music to accompany him on three Scottish reels tonight - that's in 10 hours. Last night she faked it pretty well, but she would be a lot less nervous if she knew she wouldn't forget what she worked out.

(He announced the day before the concert that he had put them on the program. We have had no chance to tape them from his playing, and he waffles when you ask them what key they are in. This is a textbook example of ego in music.)

The reels are (of course) obscure, and I can't find them on the net. They are "Mrs. Dundas of Arniston", "Miss Charter" and "Miss Brown's Favorite." MIDI or pdf files would be best.

Correction: I have found "Mrs Dundas" in ABC format, but I don't know what to do with it. There used to be info on changing ABC to MIDI on the Mudcat, but I can't find it now.

Searching for "Miss Charter" brought up lots of references to the Can't Miss Charter Service, which will take you out fishing on the Great Lakes, and I kind of wish that's where I was right now.
