Susan, I do have a question about the first verse:

Trouble and trials often betray those
Out in the weary body to stray
But we shall walk beside the still waters
With the Good Shepherd leading the way

Out in Michigan we used to sing it like this:

Trouble and trials often betray us,
Causing our weary bodies to stray

Maybe we were dupes of folk processing or maybe we couldn't make sense of the original.
