Peg, just to reiterate what others said about new doors opening. My mother's parents were evicted from a lovely house they had in the village of Mayfield when the landlord, who had assured them he would not do it, decided he needed it for a member of his family. As a result they moved to a small farm, with the house in an appalling state, but where my mother had the most amazingly happy childhood. Many years later she found herself sitting next door to the current occupant, made friends,and was able to revisit the place she so much loved on several occasions. Your first glimpse of that apt. sounds good - I hope it works out well, anyway.
