Peg, maybe you could host a rent party? Musician friends/catters volunteer their talents to entertain your other friends/acquaintances who pay an admission for the house concert, to raise money for your move. It's an old fashioned concept, one that was common in the 1920's-1950's. Just a thought. This new place sounds great, and I hope they agree to your offer of a barter agreement to bring down the rent. Sounds like a win/win situation if they agree.
