ENGLISH CEILIDH BAND NEEDS FRONT LINE MUSICIAN. I used to play melodeon in an English ceilidh band based in south Manchester but left about a year ago. The band hasn't been able to get a replacement: anybody interested? You don't need to be a superb musician....after all, I got away with it for 10 years!....just enthusiasm, sense of humour, capacity for beer, a little musical knowledge. etc. The present line up is: rhythm guitar, bass guitar, drums, recorder. The band now needs a front line musician (eg: fiddle / melodeon / accordion etc etc). Tunes presently used are fairly standard English dance tunes, played in a loud, bouncy and fun way.The band plays out about 15 - 18 times a year, mostly on Saturday nights, and has a good reputation for 'grunt' and enthusiasm. The band has a permanent caller who is superbly energetic and fun. Please PM me if your're interested, I'll tell you more. You could phone Trevor, the band secretary and chief beer drinker on 0161 903 8424. If you fancy a look at the band (with me in it) they're on at Poynton Folk Centre Saturday 28/4/01. Thanks. John J
