Peg, it was on the news just recently that the last hurdle was overcome. Amtrak is coming to Portland within a few months. For $1200 a month, you could rent the governors mansion up here! Two years ago, I bought a nice little place right in South Portland (nice neighborhood) for $72,000. Big back yard, huge oak tree and great neighbors. If you must stay in that money hungry jungle, I wish you the very best of luck.
