G'day BAZ, Alison & Alan, It turns out that the tune I had in mind was an earlier setting by Tony McLachlan, a Bush Music Club member, who won our Henry Lawson song competition with this setting, back in the 1960s. I suspect (having no speakers on this machine) that Alison's version is the one I have heard in more recent years (which I seem to associate with Western Australia?).As I said above, there are many different settings for Henry Lawson's poems. Some cavill at Henry's skill as a poet - the folk love him, but not his "Learned Critics" - however, all his work makes beautiful lyrics and his feelings are very basic to the Australian phsyche.
Anyway, I will give you Tony's setting as well:
