Does anyone have the words/tune to a Battlefield Band song, the Last Trip Home please?
The only bits of the chorus I can remember are:
***** ? plough the field
The horses day is gone
This is the last trip home,
So walk on boys, walk on.
The verses tell the story of how it is the last day of work for the Clydesdale horses, the farmer now has a tractor and the singer never thought that the day would come when the horse wasn't needed. The last verse tells of how people lined the road to watch them come home.
It was played on Folk on 2 about an hour ago (8.30ish, UK time), and of course I can't remember most of it or the name of the album it was on..... but if anyone can enlighten me, I would be grateful
