I started to say that I don't know any Australian term that matched the sound you heard, but then I looked back at the other thread and you had typed:

She counted (tatted?) up the things he took And found that she'd been had(?).

I would guess that the word is 'totted' (a corruption of totalled) and your guess of "counted" as the meaning is correct. I think Beggar's Velvet have done a fairly free reconstruction from the two versions and not a word for word repetition.
