hi BazHenry Lawson and Banjo Patterson are the two famous Aussie poets. If you live over here you hear their stuff all the time. (Not a complaint they are both good). I had never heard of them before I moved here.
a lot of their poems are used as songs you've probably heard them without knowing who they were written by
eg Lawson - Reedy River,
Patterson - waltzing Matilda, Clancy of the Overflow.There are heaps of books of their poetry, try asking your local bookshop. I remember searching the Net once and didn't find much.
the tune I have seems to have been done by Gerry Hallom (1982) I don't know if he wrote it or just performed it. Alan or Bob should know more.
